Truecaller had call recording earlier as well but the new version has some fresh twist thanks to AI. Here's what it offers for the users.News

Truecaller introduces call recording feature in India with the added ability to receive transcripts.

Truecaller is giving people more reasons to pay for its service in India after announcing a new version of call recording for its premium users in the country. A new twist to the call recording option of the caller ID app is that you can also use AI to transcribe the calls in either English or Hindi.

The platform used to offer call recording, but Google pulled the feature, meaning the option was removed from users. However, Truecaller reintroduced call recording in the US last year, and now its users in India also have the option to start recording calls and even see the script in front of their eyes. You can use the feature on both Android and iOS if you have paid for the service in the country.

Truecaller call recording for users in India: How it works

Truecaller has made it easy to record calls and you don’t need to enable any feature for it to work. You only need to call one person and you will see a Record button to the left of the call icon if you are using the Truecaller calling app. For those using other calling apps, the app will show a floating record button. The recording is confirmed when the call ends and displays the transcript in a new tab of the dialer app.

The process will be a bit longer if you are using TC on an iPhone due to Apple’s restrictions on such applications. You can record a call on your iPhone by going to settings and enabling the function after the call has started.

Some people might have reservations about the feature, while others would like to see it added, albeit in the premium version. Truecaller, like most platforms, has been working to grow its subscriber base in the country, and it hopes these features will help it convince more people to spend on its service.
